Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 July 2026

This page is maintained by TRADIEMATCH APP ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the TRADIEMATCH platform, to explain how we handle personal information about customers and tradies who use it. It is written with reference to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It is not legal advice.

Western Australia does not currently have its own private-sector privacy legislation for a business of our size; the federal Privacy Act and APPs are the primary framework we operate under, together with relevant WA laws that apply to trade licensing and consumer protection.

1. Who we are

TRADIEMATCH APP is a Perth-based business that operates the TRADIEMATCH platform, matching customers with licensed tradies across the Perth metro area from Mandurah to Yanchep. You can contact us at support@tradiematchapp.com.au.

2. What personal information we collect

  • Customers: full name, mobile number, email (optional), suburb, postcode, optional street address, a description of the job, and any photos you upload.
  • Tradies: full name, business/ABN, mobile, email, trade licence number (where required), insurance certificate, service suburbs and job types, and payment details processed by our payment provider.
  • Everyone: IP address, browser/user-agent and basic device information when you submit a form or sign in, and records of your consent (timestamps).

3. Why we collect it (purpose of collection — APP 5)

  • To confirm your job and contact you by SMS or email.
  • To share your name and mobile with the licensed tradie(s) matched to your job so they can call you to quote and book. We share your contact details with up to 3 matched tradies depending on job size.
  • To verify a tradie's licence, insurance and identity before they can accept jobs.
  • To process payments from tradies for lead access.
  • To detect abuse, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms.
  • To improve the service and provide customer support.

If you do not provide this information, we cannot match you with a tradie or, for tradies, allow you onto the platform.

4. Who we share it with

  • Matched tradies: your name and mobile (and, if you provided it, street address) are shared with the licensed tradie(s) who accept your job.
  • Service providers: Supabase (database hosting), Twilio (SMS delivery) and Stripe (payment processing). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
  • Regulators: if compelled by law, or where reasonably necessary to report unsafe or unlicensed work to the WA Building and Energy regulator.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States or European Union). By using the service you consent to this cross-border disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure providers protect your data to a standard consistent with the APPs.

6. How long we keep it

  • Customer contact details on unmatched jobs are automatically deleted 30 days after posting.
  • Matched jobs are retained for 7 years for tax, dispute and regulatory purposes, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Tradie compliance records (licence, insurance) are retained for the life of the account plus 7 years.

7. Security

Data is stored in Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security. Contact details on a job are only accessible to admins and to tradies who have paid for a lead slot on that job. We use HTTPS in transit and encryption at rest. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Your rights

You may, at any time:

  • Ask what information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information (subject to tax/legal retention obligations above).
  • Withdraw consent to receive marketing or non-essential SMS.

Email support@tradiematchapp.com.au or use our online deletion request form. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email us first. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll post any material changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept them.
